A heavier button-up cut as an overshirt, in a fine ribbed weave, with two chest pockets.
It is thicker than a shirt and lighter than a jacket, which is the whole point of the thing. Worn open over a tee it works as a layer; buttoned up it still reads as a shirt. The rib runs vertically, so it holds a line down the body instead of hanging flat.
Honest note: cut long and loose on purpose, with a curved hem. If you want it fitted like a dress shirt, this is not that.
