A wrap coat with an oversized shawl collar that falls open across the chest and can be pulled closed against the neck. The collar is the whole design - it is deep enough to frame the face properly, which is what makes a plain coat look considered rather than plain.
The body is cut full and falls from the shoulder with no waist seam, so it goes over a thick jumper without pulling. Hip length at the front, slightly longer at the back.
Honest note: there are no fastenings. It wraps and it stays where you put it, but in real wind you will be holding it closed. If you want a coat you can button and forget, this is not it.
