A knitted slip-on trainer built on a cushioned wedge sole, with a removable orthopaedic insole inside.
The insole is what you are paying for. It is contoured rather than flat, so the arch is supported instead of just padded, and because it lifts out you can swap in your own orthotic if you already wear one. Underneath, the sole is a thick shock-absorbing wedge that takes the jar out of pavement walking.
The upper is a one-piece stretch knit with open cut-outs across the vamp, so there is nothing to lace and nothing to rub. It pulls on and holds without pressure across the toes.
Honest note: the knit breathes well, which is exactly what you want in summer and exactly what you do not want in rain. These are a dry-weather shoe.
