A sleeveless check gilet in a wool-blend cloth, with a soft lining, a hood and a full-length zip.

A hood on a gilet sounds like an odd combination and it is actually the most practical part. The reason people take a gilet off is usually the neck and head getting cold while the body stays warm - so you end up putting a coat on over it and carrying the gilet anyway. Adding a hood covers the gap, which lets the gilet stay on as the outer layer for far more of the day.

The lining is soft and the cloth breathes, so it does not build up heat the way a sealed synthetic gilet does when you are working or walking.

Practical pockets and a robust zip. Sizes S to 5XL.

Five colours: Navy, Blue, Grey, Light Blue and Red. It is sleeveless, so treat it as a layer over a jumper or a shirt rather than as a jacket on its own in the cold.

Materials & Care

Wool-blend cloth with a soft lining.

  • Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, zipped closed
  • Do not bleach
  • Dry flat rather than hanging. A lined gilet holds water in the lining and its weight drags the shoulders out of shape
  • Do not tumble dry - heat felts the wool content and it shrinks unevenly against the lining
  • Cool iron on the reverse, avoiding the zip

  • Cut to be worn over a jumper or a shirt, so layering room is already built in
  • The armholes are cut generously so a sleeve underneath is not compressed
  • Between sizes, size down

Shipping & Returns

Free delivery on every UK order. Orders are dispatched within 1-3 business days. Delivery is typically 7-12 business days after dispatch. Tracking is emailed as soon as your parcel leaves the warehouse.

30 day returns. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have 14 days from delivery to cancel your order, and we extend this to 30 days for any unused item in its original condition. We refund the price of the item plus the standard outbound delivery charge within 14 days of receiving the return.

Return postage is paid by you unless the item is faulty, damaged or not as described, in which case we cover it. Nothing here affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
